RNZYS Level 2 Coastal Cruising course Kawau – (This course is not staying at Lidgard house, it will be an equivalent house in Bon Accord harbour.)
This is an all-inclusive Luxury sailing experience with a great group of people to an outstanding house in one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand – you will also learn a lot on this cruising adventure.
This is a Yachting New Zealand [internationally recognised] Level 2 sailing course. The course format is one evening class followed by a night sail to the destination and two full days of sailing. Food and accommodation at the iconic Lidgard House is included. The course is a mixture of theory and practical sailing knowledge delivered by qualified YNZ instructors. This course offers a fantastic opportunity to learn the skills required to safely cruise the Hauraki Gulf, cleverly disguised by an outstanding weekend cruising the very beautiful Kawau Island!
Most of the theory for this course is delivered via the RNZYS Learning Portal. Learning the theory online at your own pace means that we can spend most of our time together on the water, linking that theory knowledge to practical sail experiences, which leads to exceptionally good learning outcomes. The RNZYS Learning portal can also be used as a reference resource after the course.
For those students working towards gaining the SLC (International Sailing Licence) this course covers the practical components of the NauticEd Skipper Rank.
